Faceted Moldavite – a Czech gemstone of cosmic origin. Faceted moldavite is a symbol of elegance, uniqueness, and natural origin. It formed approximately 14.8 million years ago during the impact of a massive meteorite in what is now the Ries Crater. During this event, the Earth's surface melted and was ejected into the atmosphere, where it cooled as it fell back to the area of Southern Bohemia. This extraordinary moment gave rise to a natural glass with a characteristic olive-green color which, after cutting and polishing, transforms into a sparkling precious gemstone.
