Sericho – Pallasite from Kenya Sericho is a well-known meteorite discovered in the desert of northern Kenya in 2016, with over 2800 kg recovered to date. Initially thought to be several separate pieces, they were later identified as parts of a single meteorite. Discovery and Locality Fragments ranging from less than 1 kg to 500 kg have been found in an area spanning over 45 km, starting a few kilometers west of Habaswein and south of Sericha. Most pieces weigh more than 50 kg. Alteration Meteorites found on the surface show minimal alteration, meaning their surface structure and chemical composition remain relatively intact despite terrestrial atmospheric and surface conditions.
