It is one of only four pallasites in the world whose fall to Earth was directly observed, making it an exceptionally valuable object for scientific study.\nComposition\nThis meteorite belongs to the main group of pallasites, composed of olivine crystals set in an iron–nickel metal matrix. Brightly colored olivines combined with the characteristic metallic structure make Omolon a highly prized collector’s esemplare.\nRecovery and mass\nIts recovery was significant not only because of the documented fall but also due to its unique composition.
